Village Voices Christmas Concert

Our Christmas concert this year was held in Chewton Mendip church. It is the first time we have sung in Chewton Mendip for some years and a first time for our choir leader Kerrie Duce. It was a real delight when so many people arrived to support us. The evening was a lovely mix of the choir's favourite pieces of music, seasonal solos from Rick Fitzsimmons and community singing with a difference from the Somerset Russet Village Band as well as a short comic piece from our choir member, Christopher! The evening was hosted by Matthew Smith. Our grateful thanks to all the performers! With their help, we raised over £650 for essential church projects and the raffle raised £180 for the Alzheimer’s Society “Singing for the Brain” sessions held locally.  see full article »

Celebrations for the Queen’s Birthday

VILLAGE VOICES COMMUNITY CHOIR

Choir photoCelebrations for the Queen’s birthday in Ston Easton came in the form of a Garden Party at Clare Hall. Village voices were asked to sing for the residents, their families and villagers but, once again at a truly English event, the weather let us down and the Garden Party became went indoors. Never mind, no one seemed put off!  see full article »

Lent Brunch & Coffee Morning

Many thanks to all who attended and joined in with a lively brunch and coffee morning in Ston Easton Village Hall. The aroma of bacon butties, toasted crumpets and the usual display of homemade cakes and fresh coffee proved popular. The proceeds from the sale of food went to the church appeal fund but there was also a collection for Dorothy House of £17.05.

Many thanks for the support and hopefully a brunch could be on the cards again in October.

Next coffee morning in Ston Easton Village Hall on Saturday 2nd April 10.30 - 12noon.
Please come along and support this monthly event.
