Celebrations for the Queen’s Birthday

VILLAGE VOICES COMMUNITY CHOIR

Choir photoCelebrations for the Queen’s birthday in Ston Easton came in the form of a Garden Party at Clare Hall. Village voices were asked to sing for the residents, their families and villagers but, once again at a truly English event, the weather let us down and the Garden Party became went indoors. Never mind, no one seemed put off!

The choir gathered in the drawing room and surrounded by expectant faces we sang for our supper (tea).
Hallelujah Get Happy started us off followed by modern and traditional songs that included, amongst others, our rendition of Shenandoah, As Long as I Have Music, Feed The Birds, Let The River Run and the lovely Rutter hymn, For The Beauty of the Earth. We ended with the national Anthem and everyone joined in.

Thanks to Clare Hall for arranging this event and thanks to everyone who came along.
Don’t forget the choir is always open to new members. Call Jacky on 01761 241700
