Village Voices Christmas Concert

Our Christmas concert this year was held in Chewton Mendip church. It is the first time we have sung in Chewton Mendip for some years and a first time for our choir leader Kerrie Duce. It was a real delight when so many people arrived to support us. The evening was a lovely mix of the choir's favourite pieces of music, seasonal solos from Rick Fitzsimmons and community singing with a difference from the Somerset Russet Village Band as well as a short comic piece from our choir member, Christopher! The evening was hosted by Matthew Smith. Our grateful thanks to all the performers! With their help, we raised over £650 for essential church projects and the raffle raised £180 for the Alzheimer’s Society “Singing for the Brain” sessions held locally.

We would like to thank Abbey Pianos, based at Rookery Farm, Binegar, for the free loan of the Baby Grand piano, Rick Fitzsimmons for his hard work setting up the lighting and sound system and Desk Tidy Design for the posters and flyers.

Please feel free to join our choir by just coming along to Ston Easton Village Hall, any Monday, 7.15pm for 7.30pm practice. We have great fun and always welcome new members. Ring Jacky 01761 241700 for more info if needed.
