Get Active Ston Easton is a committee that manages the sports court and play area next to the Village Hall in Ston Easton.
The committee was formed to fundraise for and manage the refurbishment of the formerly derelict tennis court and unused former Red Room play area.
Although the facilities are adjacent to the Village Hall, the project was set up as an independent venture to simplify the fundraising process.
The sports court refurbishment and the play area was completed (with help from village based demolition/ groundworks contractors RM Penny) in 2019.
The multi use sports court offers the opportunity to play a variety of sports for all ages, to include: tennis, netball, basketball and 5-a-side football. It has also proved to be a great place for younger residents to ride a bike, scooter or skateboard.
Thanks to the energy and commitment (including work by floodlight) of a number of local residents, the play area has been re-grassed and the fencing has been refurbished. New wooden play equipment has been installed and we now have an area for the children of our village and surrounding villages. It provides a facility of interest for all the children of Ston Easton, and acts as a meeting area for families with a safe outdoors space with activities.

The play area comprises wooden play equipment by Hags within a fenced grassed area next to the sports court.
Benches are provided both within and outside the play area.
Together these facilities provide a meeting place and a safe outdoors space with activities to appeal to residents of all ages. It is a valuable asset and focal point for the local community, attracting residents from Ston Easton parish and surrounding villages.
The court is free to use without a booking (just turn up and play), but advance booking is available for those that wish to guarantee exclusive use of the court at specific times.
Advance bookings are available for a small fee. Users that book the court will therefore have priority over any users that are on court without a booking, so we recommend bringing your booking confirmation with you in case you need to show proof of your booking.
